Instructions for the Origami T-Rex Dinosaur
Step 1
Prepare a square piece of paper.
Step 2
Fold the square sheet in half, diagonally, from both sides and then unfold them.
Step 3
Working on any one side of a diagonal crease of the square sheet, hold an outer edge of the square sheet and fold it along the selected half diagonal crease.
Step 4
Fold the other adjacent outer side of the sheet and fold it along the diagonal crease.
Step 5
Unfold the last fold.
Step 6
Fold the unfolded part outwards.
Step 7
Now, flatten that part with the origami pattern.
Step 8
Similarly, fold the other side of the paper.
Step 9
Hold the pointy end of the side we worked on; join it with the open end of the 2 flaps inside the origami pattern.
Step 10
Notice the 2 diagonal sides after folding the pointy end. Fold them along the adjacent crease on the base origami pattern.
Step 11
Turn the origami pattern to the other side.
Step 12
Hold the top layer of the origami pattern.
Step 13
Flip it to the top.
Step 14
Hold any one diagonal side along the long side and fold it along the outer edge of the layer on the backside.
Step 15
Unfold the last fold and similarly, fold the other diagonal side.
Step 16
Unfold the last fold. You probably can’t quite picture the origami t-rex yet, but you will soon!
Step 17
Fold the 2 inner creases (joined at 90 degrees) inwards.
Step 18
Fold and flatten the origami pattern.
Step 19
Hold the wide part (triangle) of the current pattern and fold it in half.
Step 20
Fold the open end of the current top layer inside, by a few cm.
Step 21
Now, fold the current top layer in half again.
Step 22
Turn the current pattern to the other side and similarly fold that side. These are the tiny arms.
Step 23
Make small creases along the (1cm creases) bottom side of the 2 symmetrical parts of the origami pattern.
Step 24
Fold the patterns inwards along the small creases created in the previous step. These are the back legs.
Step 25
Fold the longer side of the current origami pattern towards the front side. Make this fold according to your choice (by keeping the head and neck parts accurately).
Step 26
Unfold the last fold.
Step 27
Fold the previous part along the creases by keeping the neck part in the middle.
Step 28
Fold the front pointy end inwards. Unfold it.
Step 29
Fold that part inwards. Cut out a small piece of round paper and use a sharpie to draw an eye on it.
Step 30
Attach the eye cutout on the origami t-rex dinosaur’s head part to complete the craft.
