This cute underwater scene is a simple summer craft for your homeschooler to create with a paper plate and colorful cardstock paper.

List of Supplies for your Underwater Scene Papercraft

Step 1
Select different colors of craft paper for the underwater plants. Trace the plant patterns from the provided template on the selected paper and cut them out.

Step 2
Stick the patterns to craft each paper plant. The template includes 4 different plant patterns.

Step 3
Measure the inner circle of the selected paper plate and cut out a round shape according to that circle. Trace and cut out a half circle and another slightly shorter than the half circle. Cut a wavy border along the straight ends of the 2 half-round papers.

Step 4
Place the circular paper inside the paper plate.

Step 5
Place and glue the half circle paper next and then the shorter one. Both half round shaped papers should be placed on the same side of the paper plate, to provide the backdrop for the underwater scene.

Step 6
Trace and cut out the fish patterns.

Step 7
Stick the front side and the pectoral fin on the body base of the fish pattern.

Step 8
Attach the rest of the fins and use a black gel pen or sharpie to draw the eye and mouth of the papercraft fish.

Step 9
Now decorate the paper plate ocean scene with the colorful underwater plants.

Step 10
Place the fish, octopus and star fish wherever you like. You can glue the patterns or have fun moving them around the paper plate underwater scene.
