8 Fun Summer Scavenger Hunts Printable

One of my all-time favorite activities to do with my kids is go on a scavenger hunt. I’m pretty sure it’s because, as a kid, I loved going on scavenger hunts. It was like an adventure, trying to find all the things on the list (and if they were team scavenger hunts, trying to be the first team to gather everything together).

So today, we’re bringing you a printable of several unique summer scavenger hunts, which you can print out and use to make your summertime activities that much more adventurous. There’s a unique list to “scavenge” for pretty much any summertime activity, including water fun, summer sounds, camping, and even summer treats.

Even for homeschoolers, the summer is often a time for enjoying a little bit more leisure time rather than sticking to a full-on school schedule … but fun activities can also be educational. And there are plenty of ways you can expand these scavenger hunts into times of learning.

For example, one of the items on the “water fun” summer scavenger hunt list is a rainbow. Here are a couple of interesting rainbow-themed activities you might do with your kids:

Another item to spot on that list is a popsicle melting in the sun. You could expand that into a science activity. Have your kids test what type of surface causes a popsicle to melt most quickly. This could lead to discussions on what type of material and even what colors absorb more heat.

By the way, some of these summer scavenger hunts, such as Summer Treats, aren’t something you’re going to discover all in a single day (that would be quite a feast!). So, you might use these printables over the space of the summer. Keep them in a prominent place, such as on your fridge, so that your kids can check off the box whenever you enjoy one of the summer treats.
