Instructions for the Felt Butterfly Life Cycle

Step 1
Print and cut out the template patterns. The template includes patterns for arrows, a butterfly, a cocoon, a twig, leaves, eggs, and a caterpillar. Trace the patterns on the selected felt and cut out the traced patterns using scissors.

Step 2
Take the big leaf cutout and place the egg cutouts on it. Prepare a needle with white thread.

Step 3
Take the butterfly cutouts. Arrange the teardrop cutouts on the wings and place the body base vertically along the middle of the wing.

Step 5
Prepare a round felt base for the craft. Place the eggs arranged on a leaf pattern on the right side of the round base. Stitch the egg cutouts to the felt leaf and the base with cross-stitches

Step 6
Now, place the felt butterfly pattern on the top side (12 o’clock) of the round base.

Step 7
Use matching threads to stitch the butterfly with the base cutout.

Step 8
Next, we will place the cocoon on the left side of the base. Place the twig with a leaf at its front end and a cocoon at its bottom side.

Step 9
Use needle and thread to stitch the twig, leaf, and cocoon to the base nicely. Place the caterpillar on the bottom side (6 o’clock) of the base.

Step 10
Stitch the caterpillar to the base neatly around the border. Place an arrow cutout between the stitched items. The arrows should be pointing clockwise.

Step 11
Stitch the arrows to the base to complete the craft.
