Whether you’re doing a mini unit study on forest animals or just looking for a fun craft for your homeschool art time, this 3D scene with a fox papercraft is a great project for kids!

List of Supplies for your Fox Papercraft

Step 1

You’ll need cardstock paper or thick craft paper for the layers of this craft. You can use regular craft paper for the rest of the pattern. Trace and cut out the 4 layers from 4 different shades of green cardstock paper. The other patterns include a fox, mushroom, and trees. Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out nicely.

Step 2

Cut out some cardboard strips. They can be 1 cm thick but the length shouldn’t exceed the length of the 3d art frame.

Step 3

Take the bottom layer (the square) and glue 2 cardboard strips on 2 opposite sides of the layer. You can attach 4 cardboard strips along all 4 sides of the layer if you want to.

Step 4

Apply glue along the top surface of the attached cardboard strips and then place the 2nd layer on the top of the bottom layer.

Step 5

Take 2 or 4 more cardboard strips and attach them along the open sides of the current top layer.

Step 6

Attach the 3rd layer on the top of the previous layers and then attach another layer of cardboard strips along the sides.

Step 7

Take the tree pattern cutouts and join the patterns to make the trees.

Step 8

Attach the tree patterns on the third layer of the craft. Attach the last layer of cardboard strips along the sides of the 3rd layer.

Step 9

Attach the top layer (4th layer) on the top of the last cardboard strip layer.

Step 10

Trace and cut out the fox patterns.

Step 11

Glue the tail tip on the tip of the tail cutout, the bottom part of the face on the bottom part of the head cutout and the chest fur cutout on the top part of the body cutout.

Step 12

Attach the head pattern on the top side of the body pattern.

Step 13

Attach the leg cutouts on the bottom part of the body pattern and attach the tail pattern on either side of the body.

Step 14

Use sharpie to draw the eyes and mouth of the fox figure.

Step 15

Place the papercraft fox figure on any layer of the 3D craft.

Step 16

Craft the mushroom pattern and attach it to the 3D craft to complete it.
