New Year’s Subtraction Printable

Sharing is caring!

We’ve almost reached a brand new year! For kids, one thing this means is that traditional academics have probably been on hold for a little while, and are probably getting ready to go back to normal, soon. That’s why it can be a good idea to throw in some fun, easy-going review as the holiday break draws to an end.

This New Year’s themed subtraction printable is a great way to give your child a little bit of quick subtraction practice. When he or she is done solving the subtraction problems on the page, there’s also a secret word puzzle at the bottom to be “decoded.”  (Everything is better with a secret code!)

How to Use It:

To use this printable, just click the link at the bottom of this page and download it from the Only Passionate Curiosity Store. Then print it out and use it for practice with your child who is comfortable with subtraction! We recommend a printable like this for children working on around a first grade level in math, but you could use it with a younger child who is familiar with addition, or for an older child who could use a little extra practice.

Since this printable is New Year’s themed, it’s a great activity to use on New Year’s Eve or Day. You could even laminate it and keep it around for extra subtraction practice (whenever you need some quick review for your child to do). Sometimes, having pre-laminated sheets around can be a big help! Your child will also really enjoy getting to complete the secret code at the bottom of the page!
