Hedgehog Craft
Hedgehogs are such cute critters, and this hedgehog craft is a great way to learn more about these animals with a hands-on project!

Before we get started, here are some fun facts about hedgehogs!
Hedgehogs Have Built-In Armor!
Hedgehogs are covered in spines (also called quills) — not the kind that shoot out, like a porcupine, but they’re still super pointy and help protect them from danger!
They Roll Into a Ball!
When hedgehogs get scared, they curl up into a tight ball, hiding their soft belly and face. It’s like their very own spiky shield!
They’re Night Owls!
Hedgehogs sleep during the day and come out at night to explore and look for food. This makes them nocturnal animals.
They Love to Eat Bugs!
Hedgehogs munch on insects, worms, snails, and even small frogs. They’re great little garden helpers!
They Have a Great Nose!
A hedgehog’s sense of smell is amazing. They can sniff out food that’s buried under leaves or even underground.
Tiny Feet, Big Adventure!
Hedgehogs have tiny feet, but they can walk miles each night while foraging — talk about a big explorer!
They’re Not Related to Porcupines!
Even though they both have spines, hedgehogs and porcupines are not related. They just look similar!
Baby Hedgehogs Are Called Hoglets!
Isn’t that adorable? A group of baby hedgehogs is a litter, and each baby is called a hoglet.
They Can Swim and Climb!
Hedgehogs are pretty good swimmers and can even climb over small obstacles. They’re tougher than they look!
They Make Funny Noises!
Hedgehogs can grunt, snuffle, squeak, and even hiss. They’re not silent creatures at all!
