Easy and Adorable Esther Puppet for Purim

You can use adorable Queen Esther puppet during Purim as you teach your kids about this special holiday and the historical figure of Esther! It's fun and easy to make for kids of all ages!

Materials

  • wooden spoon
  • brown felt
  • black marker
  • red marker
  • wiggly eyes
  • gold glitter foam
  • decorative sequins or gems
  • scissors
  • glue
  • gold garland
  • tacky glue

Instructions

  • Using the spoon as a guide, trace the outline for the hair onto the brown felt. (Create bangs or waves according to your preference). Cut out the felt and attach to the round "head" of the spoon with tacky glue. Use binder clips to hold the hair in place while the glue dries.
  • Use a zip-zag pattern to cut a small crown from the gold foam paper, and decorate the crown by gluing on sequins/jewels. Let it dry.
  • For Esther's face, glue the wiggly eyes onto the spoon "head" and use black and red Sharpie pens to draw the nose and mouth.
  • Attach crown to the head and, if using garland, wind this around the puppet's crown/head as the final detail.
  • Allow all of the glue to dry, then enjoy!
