Shakespeare Valentine’s Day Cards

What could be more fun to give to your literature-loving sweetheart than these Shakespeare Valentine’s Day cards?! Give them to your husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend, or even your children!

My daughter and I love to read Shakespeare’s plays. We love the way Early Modern English sounds. It’s lovely to read, and it sounds special. Think of it this way. Why would you say, “From the moment I met you, I knew we belonged together,” when instead you could say, “Hear my soul speak. Of the very instant that I saw you, Did my heart fly at your service”? See what I mean? 🙂

If you have a sweetheart or an older child or teen that you’d like to do something special for this Valentine’s Day, print these Shakespeare Valentine’s Day cards to give to him or her (or them)! You can print, sign, and give them just as they are, or you can take the time to print them on card stock, add some decorations, create a card with them, or whatever you want to do!

For you wives, I’ll share something that I do for my husband each year on Valentine’s Day, and he loves it! Each year, I print out 14 valentines (or I print some valentines, buy some, and write some notes of my own), and each morning from February 1 through February 14, I put one in his car for him to find when he goes to work. (On weekends, I put one somewhere else so he’ll see it first thing in the morning.) I started doing this several years ago, and my husband didn’t really say much about it until Valentine’s Day was over, and he told me how much he missed getting a note or card from me each morning. I’d had no idea how much he loved those messages each day!

These valentines are a great way to have some fun this year for Valentine’s Day! Be sure to write a quick little note on the back or in the card (if you turn yours into a card).
